Palaeontological Scientific Trust (PAST)

Organisation: Palaeontological Scientific Trust (PAST)

Name of Exhibition: All from One

Exhibition Summary:

PAST’s All from One exhibition showcases the science of humankind’s shared origins in Africa and the shared origins of all living things. The exhibition is a central component of PAST’s All from One campaign, which has the goal of showing the general public in South Africa and around the world the value of the palaeosciences in combatting discrimination and promoting the conservation of natural environments and biodiversity.

The exhibition was commissioned and funded in large part by the Department of Science and Technology. The original version of the exhibition was opened by DST Minister and All from One Patron Pandor at two of the exhibition’s five locations during its ongoing tour of South Africa, where it has thus far received over 165,000 visitors. A smaller version of the exhibition was a featured part of the South African Treasures Exhibition at the 2016 General Assembly of the United Nations’ World Intellectual Property Organisation in Geneva. It is this smaller version, diagrammed below in two views, that PAST will exhibited at the SFSA in 2017.
