Call for Nominations for the SFSA Science Diplomacy Awards 2018 Presented by the Department of Science and Technology

These awards will be presented during the Science Forum South Africa on 12-14 December 2018 and are designed to recognise outstanding achievements in South Africa’s international STI cooperation as well as global contributions to harnessing STI for international peace, solidarity and sustainable development.

Fill out the form below to nominate a partnership or an individual for the SFSA 2018 Science Diplomacy Awards.

The deadline for nominations is 2 November 2018

Please take advantage of this opportunity to ensure recognition of excellence in international cooperation in science, technology and innovation.

Awards Categories:

  1. (For project partners): For an international STI partnership which has made an outstanding contribution to advancing global sustainable development
  2. (For project partners): For an international STI partnership which has made an outstanding contribution to human capital development (especially for young and women scientists)
  3. (For project partners): For an international STI partnership which has made an outstanding contribution to international peace, understanding and solidarity
  4. (For project partners): For an international STI partnership which has made an outstanding contribution to advancing African regional cooperation, integration and development
  5. (For project partners): For an international STI partnership which has made an outstanding contribution to harnessing scientific advice for multilateral decision-making
  6. (For project partners): For an international STI partnership which has achieved excellence in global science
  7. (For an individual): In recognition of an individual effort over a career to put science at service of fostering international friendship

Nominees for each award will be considered by the SFSA 2016 Science Diplomacy Awards Committee, whose decisions are final. Note: It is the prerogative of the Awards Committee to evaluate the nominations and to determine whether a nominee may be more suitable for an alternate award based on criteria and the nominee’s credentials.
