PHD Rodolfo Saboia Souza
He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1989), a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1993) and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2003). He is currently a researcher-technologist in metrology at the National Institute of Metrology Standardization and Quality- . BrasilHe has experience in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis in Electromagnetic Theory, Microwave, Wave Propagation, Antennas, working mainly in the following subjects: Measures in broadcasting systems, systems of wireless broadband access, 5G, and Internet of Things.
Brazil is building a large campus for tests of Smart Cities solutions. This initiative is fundamental to help medium and small cities administrations to choose which technology is useful for their needs. A large number of tests will be performed including Cyber Security, Interoperability, Usability, and long term efficiency. Many medium and small enterprises will test their products there, and a very positive environment for innovation in smart cities and Internet of things will be created. The talk also discuss many concepts of smart cities, and Internet of things, mainly in a view of Brazilian government.
